It has been a tumultuous season of stop/start football in the SMCCFL as grassroots football followed the rest of the world in responding urgently and carefully to the coronavirus pandemic. The season began with restrictions and regulations until falling victim to lockdowns. After adapting and then readapting, clubs from all three divisions have done their utmost to keep the ball moving and ensure players from all over South Manchester and Cheshire have been able to keep up their football and team spirit.
Eventually the season drew to an official close at the start of June and after leaping over many hurdles and maintaining the spirit of the ‘SMCCFL Way’ here are the teams and players who enjoyed success in the league tables, top scorers chart and perhaps most importantly, the Fair Play awards.
